The session is led by the industry leading Jonathan Calof, PhD., Co-director Management Insight Program, Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. An award-winning columnist and author, Calof’s presentation is founded on the need for companies and other competitive organizations to develop early warning systems on threats and opportunities, to profile systems on key players, and technology and techniques and to interprest this data and to use the resulting information to better understand the competive environment in which they find themselves battling for market share.
According to Calof this is the heart of intelligence and it’s why intelligence and management insight are quickly becoming a best practice around the world.
In this session Calof will focus on helping participants develop their own insight and intelligence programs for their organization. Participants will learn how to use meetings, trade shows, and social networking sites to gain competitive advantages. Participants will also be provided with a detailed manual containing the forms required for developing intelligence applications and introductory materials.
Participating companies will also have an opportunity to spend one-on-one time with Calof to discuss and explore their insight and intelligence needs. Optional one-hour private follow-up meetings will take place on Wed., Nov.14, 2012 at the NATI offices, 391 Empire Avenue.
