Petroleum Research, by means of two new requests for proposals is seeking submissions from qualified Service Providers to form the basis for the negotiation of Contracts to conduct project work as detailed in the attached two RFPs including one for life raft towing and recovery and the other for investigating the feasibility of an Arctic and cold climate oil spill research facility.

RFP FOR TEMPSC & LIFE RAFT TOWING AND RECOVERY: PHASE I

Petroleum Research, by means of this RFP, is seeking Proposals from qualified Service Providers to form the basis for the negotiation of a Contract to conduct project work as detailed in the SOW.  The objectives of this project are to:

  • Determine whether offshore evacuation safety risks can be reduced by developing and/or improving methods, processes and technologies associated with the towing, sheltering and wholesale recovery of TEMPSC lifeboats and life rafts; and,
  • Advance the state of knowledge of the operating performance capabilities and limitations of TEMPSCs and life rafts under different environmental and rescue/recovery scenarios.

RFP FOR ARCTIC & COLD CLIMATE OIL SPILL RESEARCH FACILITY: PHASE I

Petroleum Research, by means of this RFP, is seeking Proposals from qualified Service Providers to form the basis for the negotiation of a Contract to conduct project work as detailed in the SOW.  The objective of Phase I of this project is to determine and characterize the overall demand that exists or is foreseen for a cold climate oil spill research facility.  Phase I work will consist of a market study, whereby potential users and usage modes and the requirements of such a facility will be established.   If the results of the market study show that sufficient demand exists for such a facility, later phases of this project would potentially involve determining the feasibility of establishing a facility that meets the identified requirements in Newfoundland and Labrador.
