Mitacs-Accelerate InDev internships for graduate students expand the scope of the already successful Mitacs-Accelerate program. They are not designed for research projects, but for collaborative projects with industry that advance or significantly improve new products, processes, materials, systems or services.  Interns spend at least 50 per cent of their time on‐site with the industry partner; the remainder is spent at the university, advancing the project under the guidance of a faculty supervisor.

Mitacs‐Accelerate InDev internships are open to all disciplines and all industry sectors. Projects  can span a wide range of areas, such as manufacturing, technical innovation, business processes, IT, social sciences, design.

Benefits to companies include: Mitacs and the university manage all administrative and financial issues (intern remains registered at university and does not become an employee); proposals are written by the student and supervisor; company gains novel solutions to challenging problems; and Mitacs can help companies find and access the appropriate university expertise.  http://www.mitacs.ca/accelerate/apply-now/apply-now-mitacs-accelerate-indev
