Oceans Advance Inc. is inviting observers to attend the annual Oceans Industry Connections Session. The aim of this session is to facilitate the synergy of new partnerships between business and academic partners.

To be held Wed., Sept. 19, 2012, from 8:30 – 11:00 am, in the Arctic Room, National Research Council Building, the OICS session will follow the same format as in previous years. Selected companies will have an opportunity to make three-minute elevator-pitch presentations highlighting their industrial research interests to academic participants who, in turn, will deliver similarly brief pitches outlining their research capabilities.

To help initiate potential research projects responding to company needs, NSERC can provide qualifying new partnerships between Canadian university or college researchers and Canadian companies with up to $25,000 in support for a short-term R&D project that addresses a company-specific problem.
Representatives of several research funding and economic development agencies, including ACOA, RDC, NRC-IRAP, MITACS, NLIBRD will be in attendance to help initiate partnerships and answer funding questions.
If you want to attend this informative and interesting event it is important that you RSVP to cathy.hogan@oceansadvance.net not later than noon, Mon., Sept. 17.
