Subject: Nomination Call for the 2012/13 Executive Committee

Dear Members: As we enter our third year of operation, it is time to encourage all section members to consider a role on the 2012/13 MTS-NL Executive Committee. If you have an enthusiasm for engaging other marine technology professionals and professional development, we are looking for a little of your time and energy.  The sole requirement for members of the Executive Committee is that they be MTS a member in good standing.

All of the positions on the Executive Committee are open for applications, with the exception of Chair and Past Chair.  Gary Dinn, Vice –Chair will advance to Chair and John Butler, Chair, will advance to past-chair.  The remaining positions on the Executive Committee include:

  • Vice-chair;
  • Secretary;
  • Treasurer;
  • Student Representative;
  • Director at Large;

All positions are for a one year term.  The vice-chair will advance to chair and past-chair over the seceding years.  Members may apply for any position, with the exception of student representative.  The student representative must be registered as a full time post-secondary student in a marine-related program.

Nominations will close during the annual general meeting.  To volunteer or nominate someone, please email our Secretary, Randy Gillespie (randy.gillespie@mi.mun.ca).  Include the nominee’s name, title, organization, telephone number and email address.   

Elections will be held at the annual general meeting which is set for Friday, June 8, 2012. More information on the AGM has been circulated under separate cover.
