Government of Canada Fueling Community Revitalization and Creating the Conditions for Local Economies to Thrive as They Rebound From the Effects of COVID-19
Today (Feburary 10, 2022), Andy Fillmore, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and Member of Parliament for Halifax, announced total investments of $100,000 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) for three projects in Spryfield, Africville and Downtown Halifax. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).


Canada’s Ocean Supercluster Unveils $29M in Projects
Canada’s Ocean Supercluster has announced a basket of five projects worth a combined $29 million, of which the Supercluster will pay $12.52 million, with the participating companies spread across Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia. CEO Kendra MacDonald said in an interview last month that the Supercluster had signed deals for projects worth the bulk of the $153 million that the federal government tasked it with distributing. Canada’s Ocean Supercluster Announces $65M Clean Ocean Advanced Biofuels Project
Canada’s Ocean Supercluster announced its largest project to date, the $ 65M Clean Ocean Advanced Biofuels project. Under this project, Valent, an Ontario company, will work with a pan-Canadian team to produce Canada’s first renewable diesel fuel made from abundantly available agricultural and forestry by-products. Memorial University’s Bachelor of Social Work, Nunavut Cohort Program Well Under Way
As part of a broader partnership between Nunavut Arctic College (NAC) and Memorial University, the School of Social Work is offering a bachelor of social work (BSW) program to graduates of NAC’s social service worker diploma program. The BSW, Nunavut cohort program is strongly connected to Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) principles. Fugro Targets Reduced Carbon Footprint in Canada with Remote Technologies
Fugro is building a remote operations centre (ROC) in the company’s St. John’s office, located in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The ultra-modern communications hub is scheduled for completion in Q4 2022 and will complement Fugro’s global network of ROCs, which make it possible to complete offshore operations onshore via remote and autonomous technologies.
