The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service is offering a free-of-charge business partnering service to Canadian ocean technology companies visiting or exhibiting at Oceanology 2012.  Companies looking for business development or innovation partnering opportunities in the UK should consider applying for this opportunity. But you have to act soon. The deadline for application is Friday, December 23, 2011.

What will the business partnering service involve?

We have contracted the UK’s Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) to arrange business to business meetings for a limited number of Canadian companies. The SMI is one of the most respected marine institutions in the UK.  They will select UK companies and organisations that best match your business needs and arrange a series of breakfast meetings, scheduled for Wednesday 14th March.

Will I miss any of Oceanology International?

No. We have booked a private venue on the site of Oceanology International, where you will have breakfast meetings.  The meetings will be scheduled to take place early on the second day of Oceanology, before the event opens.

How do I apply?

Complete the attached application form and return it to me, Lee Thornton, by Friday 23rd December 2011 for consideration.  Please try to be as clear and concise as possible on the form.  Places are limited, but we will reply to you by the 6th January 2012 to let you know if your application was successful.

I am not exhibiting at Oceanology International, can I still apply?

Yes, we encourage you to apply to get the most value from your visit.

I have a Europe-based representative who will be at Oceanology, can they take part in our place?

Yes, if they are your exclusive representative for the UK.  Please state clearly within section 4 of the form if the application is on behalf of a representative.  However, priority will be given to Canadian companies without permanent local representation.

What does it cost?

Nothing.
