Description:                 This presentation is an introduction to Papercut NG, an administrative software used for regulating printing services. Includes discussion of the installation, testing and management of this software, as well as providing information for client use of the service.

Title of Presentation:   Thrust Demand Prediction for Dynamic Positioning in Ice Applications

Description:                 This presentation will discuss the progress being made in improving IOT’s existing D.P. Control System capabilities, particularly with respect to D.P. in Ice. It will include the design and implementation of real-time computer vision software and hardware used to track and observe managed ice flows. It will also include an investigation into developing vision-based ice load prediction models to be used in predicting thrust demands in the D.P.I. control system.

Description: A presentation of the following items:

  • General nature of the project in which I was involved.
    • The communication interface being developed at IOT to interface the Ocean-Structure Interactions Simulator/Ice-Hull Interactions software (OSIS/IHI) with the Marine Institute Centre for Marine Simulation (CMS) ship bridge simulator.
    • The results obtained after testing this interface using an in-house server that mimics the Polaris ship bridge simulator at CMS.
    • Objectives for the next phase of this project.
