The presenter for thie Roundtable is Neil Cater, R&D Manager for LOOKNorth. He will provide an overview of the program, highlighting current opportunities for small- and medium-sized enterprises and for researchers in the local ocean cluster. He will also seek feedback from OA members on how LOOKNorth can support their initiatives throughout its mandate

LOOKNorth is a five year program hosted by C-CORE and, consistent with the successful CECR model, seeks to link research adn development activity with Canada’s economic and social well-being. 

LOOKNorth’s vision is to commercialize technologies that address the knowledge requirements of stakeholders in developing northern natural resources.

In December 2010, LOOKNorth (Leading Operational Observations and Knowledge for the North) received designation as a Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) from the Network of Centres of Excellence, one of twenty-seven Centres designated.
