NATI is offering a Competitive Intelligence and Insight Workshop, designed to support the Ocean Technology Commercialization Initiative (OTCI). This session is offered as a follow on to the initial workshops offered in April, 2011. Dr. Jonathan Calof, globally renowned award winning columnist and author, will once again lead this exciting workshop.


What is Competitive Intelligence? 

It’s about developing insights on customers, markets and competitors, using an effective approach to gathering and processing information that can assist decision makers in addressing a wide variety of issues affecting their organization. 

This session will focus on helping participants develop their own insight and intelligence programs for their organization. Participants will learn how to use meetings, trade shows, and social networking sites to gain competitive advantages. Participants will also be provided with a detailed manual containing the forms required for developing intelligence applications and introductory materials.

Dr. Jonathan Calof 

Dr. Calof is recognized as one of the leaders in intelligence and business insight. An associate professor of International Business and Strategy at the Telfer School of Management at University of Ottawa, Dr. Calof combines research and consulting in competitive intelligence, technical foresight and management insight in the creation of the Universities management insight program. As well, he is a Board member for CASIS (Canadian Association of Security and Intelligence Studies), is on the advisory board for the Algonquin College intelligence analyst program, and is also co-director of the Foresight Synergy Network. 

Participating companies will then be given an opportunity to spend one-on-one time with Dr. Calof to discuss their insight and intelligence needs.
