Trade Mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, October 3-7, 2011In conjunction with OTC Brasil:

The Maritimes Energy Association – MEA (Formerly OTANS) will be the lead organizer for a Trade Mission to Brazil, from October 3-7, 2011, which will coincide with the OTC Brazil Conference & Trade Show. The mission is supported through the Canada/Atlantic Provinces Agreement on International Business Development (IBDA). The IBDA is a federal/provincial agreement between the Government of Canada (ACOA, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and Industry Canada) and the four provincial governments in Atlantic Canada.

This Atlantic Canada mission is a follow-up to successful ventures into the market in 2010. It will be designed to assist Atlantic Canadian companies to better understand the business opportunities being generated by the rapid growth of Brazil’s offshore oil and gas sector and how to do business in this market. The proposed mission will be centred around the first ever Offshore Technologies Conference (OTC) Brasil, an international oil and gas exhibition and conference to be held in Rio de Janeiro from October 4 – 6, 2011. More information on OTC Brasil can be found at the official website.

The goal of the mission is to provide ample opportunity for Atlantic Canadian companies to gain new business opportunities while in Brazil through attendance at a major exhibition and conference, business matchmaking, briefings by industry leaders and networking receptions.

This mission will be of particular interest to Oil and Gas Supply and Service firms that want to follow-up on contacts made in the 2010 missions as well as those that met with Brazil based companies on an inbound mission to Atlantic Canada in late 2009.
