PAC was created as part of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), the main purchasing arm of the federal government, to support a procurement system that is fair, open, and transparent. Federal departments and agencies often have the discretion to purchase goods under $25,000 and services and construction under $40,000 directly from suppliers. These lower dollar value procurement can present an opportunity to grow your business by developing a relationship with the Government.
Procurement Assistance Canada (PAC) is here to help! PAC can help smaller and diverse businesses:

- learn how and where to find relevant federal procurement opportunities;
- register on CanadaBuys and SAP Ariba;
- adopt bidding best practices and get ready to bid;
- clarify government contracting process; and
- ensure business community concerns and views are heard.
PAC does this by offering free services such as webinars, resources and personalized assistance to businesses.
PAC also supports the Department of National Defence Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS), which provides funding to Canadian innovators to help solve defence and security challenges. PAC can help you learn more about this program and how to apply.

Ryan has a background in Naval Architecture and Maritime Studies and prior to joining PAC he was a Supply Officer for PSPC Acquisitions. He can help you learn about opportunities to do business with the federal government and navigate the procurement process.
