Oceans Advance and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador invite you to the Breakfast Series: Green Transition Fund 

The Green Transition Fund will provide support to projects for businesses, organizations, post-secondary institutions and industry associations, as well as other collaborative efforts to assist with the province’s transition to a green economy.

Highlights

econext launches the Tides of Opportunities video series stemmed from a number of in-person events and real-time demonstrations where both students and skilled professionals could learn directly from industry leaders about available and emerging ocean cleantech careers in Newfoundland and Labrador.


The fall issue of the Journal of Ocean Technology (JOT) will focus on sensing the ocean. In this issue, we’ll look at how lights, cameras, sensors, and similar technologies are being used to monitor the ocean. Tell our readers around the globe about your work in this area! We invite the submission of peer-reviewed technical papers, essays, and short articles. The JOT is published in open access format, making each issue accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Opportunities

Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting their Annual Skilled Career Day. The event is happening on March 15th, 2024 and will feature a variety of immersive activities and events for students of all ages to engage with. Skills Canada NL’s Annual Skilled Career Day will feature the 2024 Skills Canada Provincial Competition which invites secondary and post-secondary students from across the province to participate in competitions in skilled trade and technology careers.


Gardiner Centre/Facility of Business Administration

The Canada-NL Job Grant provides significant tuition assistance to eligible businesses and organizations to help offset the cost of training for their current and future employees. If you are a private sector employer, not-for-profit organization, Indigenous government or organization, incorporated, or a sole proprietor, you may be eligible.

German-Canadian Young Atlantiks Program Call for Applications 2024

For more than 30 years, Atlantik-Brücke has convened an annual German-Canadian conference to discuss themes of mutual importance for both countries, bringing together leaders from Canada and Germany in a frank exchange and dialogue. The annual conference has become the forum in which to strengthen Germany-Canada relations and intensify the exchange between business, civil society and politics on a multi-partisan basis. The Young Atlantiks Program promotes the “next generation” of German-Canadian transatlantic partnership, and is now in its fourth year. Alumni of the Young Atlantiks program will remain active in the Atlantik-Brücke and Atlantik-Brücke Canada network.

Innovation Forum April 23-24, Vancouver Convention Centre

ABCMI in partnership with COAST will be providing two days of panels, speakers, and industry showcase presentations embracing emerging technologies and innovation in the ocean and marine space. Not only will this forum be for all those companies directly or indirectly involved in bringing innovative new products and services to market but also for all entrepreneurial businesses progressing through the Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) spectrum from idea to commercialization. The event will also feature plenty of networking opportunities with government and private sector entities as a well as a small trade show for exhibitors wanting to show off their cutting edge products.
