HFC Canada Presents: Work as Done vs. Work as Imagined WORKSHOP
Human Factors in Control (HFC) Canada is hosting a Spring workshop, entitled; Work as Done, Work as Imagined: Closing the Gap to Sharp-End Operations
Join us online for a free 1-day workshop.
When: April 28, 2026
Where: Virtual
The realities between how work and people within complex work systems is understood and planned can greatly differ then how it is executed. This disconnect between work as imagined versus work as done is found in different ways within work systems, including discrepancies between rules and regulations, training programs, operating procedures and work tasks, management levels, and ultimately, how work and work tasks are actually performed and experienced by differing stakeholders.
This seminar aims to address areas where safety-critical industries struggle in terms of inconsistencies between planned work and work results, the threat that these inconsistencies and overall system understanding has on safety and human performance, and how to close the gaps between work as done and work as imagined.
