DRDC SEEKS NEW PROPOSALS FOR CANADA'S SAFETY AND SECURITY PROGRAM

The Government of Canada is seeking proposals in support of the Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP) Call for Proposals, for innovative science and technology (S&T) projects.
As of May 2014, up to $15 million will be available for new projects under the CSSP. The submission period for proposals will be from June 20th, 2013 and will close on July 18th, 2013. The selected projects will be announced by February 2014.

KRAKEN DELIVERS SYNTHETIC APERTURE SONAR TO DSTO AUSTRALIA

ST. JOHN’S, Nl, MAY 30, 2013: Kraken Sonar Systems Inc. announced today that the sea acceptance testing of its AquaPix® Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Sonar (InSAS) with Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) was a success. The AquaPix® system was integrated and tested onboard DSTO’s REMUS 600 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV).
DSTO is a national leader in safeguarding Australia by delivering valued scientific advice and innovative technology solutions for the country's defence and national security.

LOCAL COMPANY SUCCESSFUL IN SONAR TRIALS WITH NUWC

ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND – MAY 17, 2013 – Kraken Sonar Systems Inc. announced today that a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Navy’s Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island was a complete success.

UK Marine Security Market Report

The request from the Trade Commissioner to the Canadian High Commission asked for the report “to provide up-to-date and forward looking information to companies in the Canadian Ocean Technology sector, so that they may consider entering this market area or innovating to meet forecast market demand. The report will also make [Canadian] companies aware of the opportunities to enter global supply chains by partnering with or supplying multinational companies based in the UK.”

ADIANL CALL FOR PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS FOR MAS13

The Aerospace & Defence Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (ADIANL) today announced plans for an annual Maritime and Arctic Security Conference (MAS13) and called for papers and presentations.
MAS13 will be held November 12 -13, 2013 at the Delta Hotel in St. John's, NL. An optional third day (14 Nov) is also being planned for organized visits to local educational institutions and research and development organizations.
