St. John’s, NL: Oct 5, 2011: NATI announced today that it will lead a targeted trade and partnering mission to MAST Americas 2011 Conference and Exhibition, November 14 – 16, in Washington, D.C. Having attended the mission in the past, NATI actively encourages members to consider this event which offers opportunities for a trade mission involving provincial technology companies.

According to NATI’s CEO, Mr. Ron Taylor, this global maritime conference and exposition brings together leaders in the international maritime security and defence industry to explore business opportunities in security and defence concepts, capabilities, and enabling technologies. “Any company interested in making key contacts in this industry should have this conference and exhibition on their radar,” said Taylor.

Sponsored by the US Navy (via NAVSEA/NUWC), MAST Americas is the only event of its kind held in the Washington, D.C. area. It unites the major shareholders from international maritime security and defence communities to discuss and debate future maritime capabilities requirements and concepts, and explore the full range of future technologies.

Organized by a committee from government, industry and R&D/academia, MAST Americas is held in response to a demand for an annual North American event that fosters a number of key responses to emerging needs in the industry including the following:

  • Development of cooperative approaches by the authorities and innovators for key security and defence issues in the surface, undersea, air, and space environments;
  • Presentation of  the end users’ perspective by operational leaders;
  • Exploration of enabling technologies as presented by international suppliers.

At MAST Americas 2011 organizers will focus on an unprecedented breadth of maritime security and defence topics and technology. These range from the formation of policy and operational procedures to the technological response and development. And the various venues and  events are designed to engage the diverse range of delegates that always turn out for the MAST Americas events. These include decision-makers responsible for the formulation, development and implementation of policies, strategies and plans of relevance to the international maritime security and defence industry. MAST also attracts those people  who research, produce, evaluate, procure and deploy “game-changing technologies.”

The MAST Americas 2011 Exhibition is free to conference participants, delivering an international stage for those interested in the international maritime security and defence industry to showcase state-of-the-art security and defence platforms, systems and products. Here too delegates will have an unprecedented opportunity to preview developing technologies that target future maritime security and defence challenges and meet the innovators and world-leading suppliers and agencies.

MAST Americas 2011 will take place at Marriott Wardman Park, Washington, DC, United States Nov. 14 –16, 2011.
