(St. John’s, NL, October 23, 2013) Pro-Dive Marine Services has become the first Canadian-owned and based company to qualify for membership in the coveted International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) in both the diving and ROV services categories.
President and General Manager of Pro-Dive Marine Services, David Squires, said today that their successful audit by IMCA marked the end of a year-long membership application process. “Recognition by the IMCA provides Pro-Dive with national and international recognition as a highly qualified marine contractor,” he said.
“To pass the audit, Pro-Dive had to demonstrate robust management systems in health, safety and environment and quality.” IMCA membership gives Pro-Dive more exposure as a highly qualified contractor to offshore, marine and underwater engineering member companies worldwide.
Squires said that because of the hard work by Pro-Dive’s dedicated and professional management group, the team deserves full credit for the prestigious recognition by IMCA.
Pro-Dive has achieved other firsts in HSEQ . In fact, according to Squires, it is a company tradition. Pro-Dive was the first Canadian diving and ROV services company to be accredited to the ISO Standard in 1997. They were the first Newfoundland diving and ROV services company to have an approved safety program registered under Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association’s Certificate of Recognition (COR) in 1999. “These firsts in implementing recognized HSEQ systems demonstrate Pro-Dive’s commitment, our leadership and our drive to be the best in class in these areas,” said Squires.
