Jim Evely, the main simulation technologist for the Centre for Marine Simulation, passed away recently after a short illness. Jim was a multi-talented specialist whose knowledge and innovative skills covered the length and breadth of all the Centre’s simulation equipment. His supervision and work with graduate students on project at the facility resulting in many of the advances that allowed CMS to remain independent of many of its vendors. His passing is a great loss for the facility and for the CMS team and for the Oceans Cluster. He will be missed.
