PRAC Renamed Petroleum Research Newfoundland and Labrador

 St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, November 16, 2011 – Petroleum Research Atlantic Canada (PRAC) today announced that it has changed its name to Petroleum Research Newfoundland and Labrador (Petroleum Research). Petroleum Research is a federally-incorporated, not-for-profit organization that funds and facilitates collaborative research and development (R&D) on behalf of the offshore oil and gas industry in Newfoundland and Labrador.   Read more.

Two NL Firms Make Top 100 Marine Technology Companies List

The semi-monthly Marine Technology Reporter is one of the world's largest circulation magazines covering the marine technology market.  Each year the magazine publishes the "MTR 100" list which profiles the top 100 ocean technology companies in the world as assessed by the editorial team at the Marine Technology Reporter.
  
The list came out in early November and among the 12 Canadian ocean technology companies on the list were two of our own, from Newfoundland and Labrador.

Review of Federal Support to R&D Is Available Online

The expert panel leading the Review of Federal Support to R&D submitted its final report Oct. 17, 2011, to the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for Science and Technology. In it they make a series of recommendations that call for a simplified and more focused approach to the $5 billion worth of R&D funding provided by the federal government every year.
