The Maritimes Energy Association will be the lead organizer for a Trade Mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from September 16 – 21, 2012, to coincide with the Rio Oil and Gas Show.
The Mission program includes:
- Atlantic Canada Booth – We have reserved booth space within the Canada Pavilion to highlight the capabilities of Atlantic Canadian companies interested in this mission. Trade Mission participants can display company information and spend time in the booth as one way of meeting with potential partners and clients.
- Matchmaker – Along with booth space, we are offering the services of a “matchmaker” to identify your goods and services with potential buyers as well as networking opportunities through company briefings and potential networking events. As stated above, the Atlantic Canada booth and the Canadian Pavilion will have designated space available to meet potential customers.
- Networking Opportunities – We are working with the Canadian Consulate in Rio on identifying possible receptions & networking opportunities that the Atlantic Canada delegation can attend.
- Hotel Block Booking (participants responsible for their own hotel bills and flights)
- Transportation from Hotel to Show Site and return each day.
Representative delegates from all four Atlantic Provinces will be participating in this trade mission, so there is limited space available per province. If you are interested in attending this oil and gas event, it is extremely important to submit an expression of interest by the deadline of Friday, 20 April 2012 to be considered for this mission.
Many of the costs of this mission are being covered through the Canada/Atlantic Provinces Agreement on International Business Development (IBDA) including the booth and matchmaker service, however, there is a participation fee of $1,000 for this trade mission plus participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodations costs.
We will be reserving a block of room at a hotel in Rio for our delegation. Please be advised that there are a limited number of rooms available and these will go on a first come first served basis. Once you are registered and the mission fee has been paif, additional information on how to reserve your room will be sent.
