Conference Board of Canada Speaker Series

OA held a Breakfast Speaker Series on Thursday, November 26 featuring the Conference Board of Canada’s How Canada Performs – Report Card on Innovation.

Approximately 40 cluster members attended this engaging and insightful presentation by Paul Preston, Associate Director, Innovation Policy with the Conference Board of Canada.

Mr. Preston’s presentation addressed the findings of The Conference Board of Canada’s How Canada Performs Report Card on Innovation. For the first time, the Conference Board’s analysis compares the innovation performance of individual provinces with that of 16 advanced peer countries.

The Report includes 11 indicators of innovation capacity, activity and results relating to the Provinces, it was a true reflection of not only how the Country is doing, but also how the Canadian Provinces compare.

Evident was the fact that Canada as a whole is not faring well when compared to other Countries regarding the amount of monies being spent by Industry in R&D.
