OceansAdvance is hosting a Roundtable on November 14, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at NRC/OCRE, Arctic Avenue.  Lunch included.

This Roundtable is a follow-up to the International Standards Organization (ISO) Technical Committee and Plenary session held in St. John’s, October 1 – 3, 2013.

The objectives of the Roundtable will be to obtain feedback from persons who participated in the event; seek insights into possible future opportunities and define next steps.

Hosting the ISO Arctic Operations Standards group was a strategic opportunity for our community to become involved in the Arctic region which is important to our future economic growth and development.  Standards developed through the ISO processes will generate foundational policies and standards which will benefit industry and research as well as federal, provincial, territorial, regional governments and the general public.  “Arctic” is a major thrust for Newfoundland and Labrador’s economic vision driven largely by oil and gas, ocean renewable energy, marine transportation, and ocean technologies.

We look forward to your participation.  Persons who participated in the October 1 – 3 Workgroups and Plenary are urged to attend and share perspectives.  All members of the Cluster are also invited.

Please response via email to Brenda Baird at Brenda.baird@oceansadvance.net to confirm your attendance.  Thank you for your support.
