OceansAdvance in partnership with the City of St. John’s presents the Newfooundland and Labrador Angel Network on Thursday, December 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the Institute for Ocean Technology.

Leanne Kelly, Program Coordinator NLAN, will provide an overview of the program and how NLAN’s angels can help new business ventures.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Angel Network’s (NLAN) mission is to facilitate the linkage between local entrepreneurs seeking early stage capital and local angel investors, to help bridge the capital gap that exists between start-up and later-stage funding (ie. venture capital).  NLAN also assists with expansions and successions.  NLAN’s angels are a collection of affluent individuals who typically each invest $25,000 to $100,000 of their own money at a time in local business opportunities.

NLAN’s team of experienced business professionals will pre-screen opportunities for investment and coordinate presentations by these companies to the group of angel investors.  The NLAN approach is proactive.  We facilitate start-up ventures, and are the essential link between capital and emerging opportunities.

Leanne is also a Chartered Accountant who works with Grant Thornton LLP as a Senior Manager in Assurance Services.
