ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, one of ISO’s most widely used standards, has recently been revised. ISO 14001:2015 is designed to respond to latest trends and ensure it is compatible with other management system standards. The key changes in this revision include: an increased prominence of environmental management within the organization’s strategic planning processes; a greater focus on leadership; the addition of proactive initiatives to protect the environment from harm and degradation, such as sustainable resource use and climate change mitigation; improving environmental performance added; lifecycle thinking when considering environmental aspects; and the addition of a communications strategy.
This information session will provide a high level overview of the requirements of the new ISO 14001:2015 Quality Management Standard, and about how the upcoming revision could affect existing environmental management systems. Participants will also learn about the benefits of participating in a full ISO 14001:2015 Transition workshop.
