Dave is an engineer with over 25 years’ experience in applied research, project management, consulting and business development. Dave is a graduate of Memorial University where he completed a Bachelor of Engineering specializing in Naval Architecture in 1988. He completed his Masters in Ocean Engineering in 1991 during which his research focused on the response of fixed structures under dynamic ice loads.
Dave has worked in Houston, Ottawa and Newfoundland and Labrador with the National Research Council, ZeddComm, xwave, and Aliant Energy Services.
In 2006, he joined Petroleum Research Atlantic Canada, now known as Petroleum Research Newfoundland and Labrador (PRNL), where he is the Chief Operating Officer. PRNL facilitates and manages R&D on behalf of the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore oil and gas industry. His most recent efforts have focused on leading the development of a proposal to establish an Ocean Supercluster under Industry Science and Economic Development Canada’s $950M Innovation Superclusters Initiative.
Dave is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
